Surround yourself with what you want to be
The Rooster and the Rabbit
Our friends invited us over to see their new baby- a goat. She is adorable and full of energy She acts like what you would expect a Kid to act like. But what got my attention even more what a rooster and a rabbit that lives in the barn.
The rooster has been around the farm awhile. Our friends found a baby rabbit all alone several months ago. They put it in the barn to live and grow. Well the rooster and rabbit watched and got use to each other. And yesterday this is what I saw....
The rooster was pecking on the ground then laying and fluttering it's wings to dig a hole. For non farm people roosters and chickens do this because they want to lay in the dirt to relax, stay cooler or just because they want to. The rooster decided to come over and see what we were doing to the newest member of their little family- the kid.
When the rooster got up guess what happened. The rabbit got onto the rooster's hole and flounced around like the rooster had and then laid in th hole. Well I'll be I have never seen a rabbit do that. That rabbit thinks it is suppose to do like the rooster! He doesn't have wings but he thinks he does. He doesn't have to crow but he thinks he does.
This experience reminds me that people tend to copy what they are surrounded with. Positve people tend to become more negative when they are surrounded by only negative people.
Have you surrounded yourself mostly with people who are like you WANT to be? Not everyone in your life will display traits that you want to be. So surround yourself and have regular contact with people who have the traits you want in yourself.
I want to be surrounded by positive, caring people because I want to continue to be positive and caring about everyone! What do you want to be?
