Don't feed your "Thing"!

Deutrronomy 6:4-5

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord;[a] and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

Everyone has something that causes them pain, or embarrassment. Even the person who appears to have everything has a ”thing” that they battle against and hide from the world. You are not the only person with a “thing”.

Be kind, Be understanding, Be forgiving!❤️

What is your thing? You know the "thing" that we don't want the world to know about. We desperately try to hide it from others. For some of us it might be something that happened to us or something we did years ago.

Something bad happens to all of us, our family or friends. It causes pain and other negative reactions but we get to the point that we have to forgive. We don't forgive so they feel better, we forgive so we can move on and stop rehashing the pain. They caused the pain once but we have revisited the pain over and over. Let it go. Forgive and move on.

We have all made mistakes! Sincerely apologize to those we have hurt, ask God for forgiveness and forgive yourself.

You may think that someone is perfect and has never made mistakes. The truth is everyone has made mistakes. Everyone has hurt others. It is not something to be proud of but it is reality.

Jesus Christ is the only human that ever walked on this earth who was and is perfect! I am not perfect. That person is not perfect. You are not perfect! That's okay.

Whatever the "thing" is that brings us pain, embarrassment or shame, let it go. It is holding us back from serving God the way that we should. Time spent dwelling on that thing is time not appreciating the good that we have in us, dwelling on the accomplishments that we have achieved, or working on God's plan for each of us!

Let it Go! Give it to God! Don't feed it with your time, focus or energy!
